Marilyn Elaine (Stordahl) Gregory

In Memory of Marilyn Gregory

Marilyn Elaine (Stordahl) Gregory was born in Minneapolis, MN. April 17, 1955 to Harold and Cecilia Stordahl, passed away peacefully surrounded by her sons and daughter in-law, May 6, 2025 in Tulsa OK. at the age of 70 years.

She was the 6 th of 10 siblings. Marilyn graduated from Park High School in Cottage Grove, MN. 1973. She married Dan Comeau when he joined the Marine Corps in 1972 (divorced 1988). Marilyn and Dan had 4 boys, Daniel, Timothy, Benjamin, and Thomas. She went on to marry Mike McNish (Navy Vet., Widowed 2000) and Marvin “Thumper” Gregory (Army Vet., Widowed 2017). She resided in the USWV Veteran’s Colony in Wilburton, Ok. for the past 28 years after relocating from Eau-Claire, WI.

She enjoyed being a homemaker among other jobs including hotel management and finance management. She loved selling Home Interior, Avon, and Tupperware among other endeavors. Everything she did, she did it relentlessly.

She enjoyed league bowling, outdoor activities, travel, crafting and quilting with her mother and grandmother, and days at the beach. Let us not forget her passion for the casino. Holidays were her favorite times, being among her large family, and decorating her home and yard with all the lights and blow up figures for all the holidays and cooking large meals for everyone to enjoy.

She loved her 4 boys, 13 grandchildren, Daniel, Alyssa, Casey, Hannah, Elizabeth, Kaylee, Christina, Seth, Meckella, Alx, James, Colton, and Brooklyn, and 2 great grandchildren, Nakia, and Henry above all else. The support she gave at all times made her THE SOLID ROCK of the family through all of life’s trials and tribulations. She raised 4 strong men. She remained that rock even through the death of her 2 nd son, Timothy.

She enjoyed motorcycles and the motorcycle lifestyle for many years. She made many friends and fond memories during this time.

She had an enormous love for her dogs (especially her miniature collie Jennifer aka Fur Fur of 16 years) with “Little Bit” being her current companion and best friend until the end. Some of her last words were, “I wanna pet my dog” in her playful voice.

Marilyn had a knack of only seeing the good in people even to a fault. She never met a stranger. Her biggest priority in life was helping others in any way she could. She gave so much to so many in countless ways, even opening her home for those in need. Never once expecting reciprocation or compensation. If she had it to give, she gave it.

She was the strongest person alive. She spent many years battling heart complications, strokes, heart attacks and more. In every case she never stopped fighting and always bounced back with vigor. Nothing was ever going to keep her down. It was with that same spirit and drive she lived her life. She was feisty, rebellious, outspoken, courageous and most of all, strong.

Marilyn will be greatly missed by so many friends and family. Her smile was her trademark. Always smiling, always shining, her light will never dim in the hearts and minds of all those that had the pleasure of knowing her.
