Shirley Marie Hamon, age 70, of McCurtain, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016 at her residence in McCurtain. 

Shirley was born in Waldron, Arkansas on February 22, 1946, a daughter of the late Maudie (Hill) and Elmer  Ross.

She worked as a CNA.

Shirley is  survived by:
Sons:  Delmer Owens, of McCurtain, Oklahoma; Dennis Hamon, of McCurtain, Oklahoma.
Daughters: Thelma Decker, of McCurtain, Oklahoma; Misty Durham and Josh Ball, of McCurtain, Oklahoma.
Brothers:  Meril Ross, of Stigler, Oklahoma; Vernon Ross, of Spiro, Oklahoma. 
Sister:  Lennie Moore, of Grand Prairie, Texas. 
She is also survived by Grandchildren:  Rebecca Harden, of Checotah, Oklahoma; Mikala Durham, of Long Town, Oklahoma; Skyler Durham, of McCurtain, Oklahoma; Leslie Durham, of Quinton, Oklahoma; Amanda Decker, of Ft. Smith, Arkansas.  Great Grandson:  Hagen Bray of Long Town, Oklahoma.
 
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Lee Ross, and son, Tracy Owens.

Jimmie Don Wilson, age 50, of Wilburton, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at St. Johns Medical Center, Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Jimmie was born in Wilburton, Oklahoma on January 18, 1966, a son of the late Alta Mae (Blankenship) and Joe  Wilson.

He was the husband of Brenda (Kirk) Wilson. On April 25, 1985, they were married at Wilburton, Oklahoma. 

Jimmie is  survived by:
Sons:  Terral, husband of  Victoria Waldrop, of Wilburton, Oklahoma; Jerral, husband of  Sanessa Waldrop, of Wilburton, Oklahoma; Jordan Mullins, of Wilburton, Oklahoma.
Daughters:  Sondra Ellis and Sonny Collins, of McAlester, Oklahoma; Lecora, wife of Tim Reeves, of Hartshorne, Oklahoma. 
Brothers:  Jesse Wilson, of Wilburton, Oklahoma; Bill, husband of  Retha Wilson, of Wilburton, Oklahoma; Mark, husband of  Sherry Wilson, of Wilburton, Oklahoma; Curtis Wilson, of Wilburton, Oklahoma.
Sisters:  Charlotte Wilson, of Wilburton, Oklahoma; Brenda Kay Roberts, of Wilburton, Oklahoma. 
Nephew:  David Wilson and his wife, Kristi, of Wilburton, Oklahoma.  
He also survived by 16 Grandchildren.

Mary Pearl (Coyer) Draper

In Memory of  Mary Pearl (Coyer) Draper

Mary Pearl (Coyer) Draper, age 88, of Wilburton, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at her residence in Wilburton. 

Mary was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on December 20, 1927, a daughter of the late Vanita (Edwards) and Jess  Coyer.  She grew up in various places during the depression in a very poor family. 

Mary was the widow of Bill Draper.  On March 22, 1947 Bill and Mary were married in McAlester, Oklahoma.

Mary graduated from Choctaw High School at the age of sixteen.  She went directly to work during WWII at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City for eleven years, then American Airlines in Tulsa, then Choctaw High Schools and finished her career at Eastern Oklahoma State College as the Secretary to the President and Administrative Assistant to the Board of Regents.

Mary was saved at an early age and served the Lord all her adult like as a member of First Baptist Church of Nicoma Park, Oklahoma; High Bridge Baptist Church and Grace Country Cowboy Church of Wilburton.  She was inactive in the order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 506, of Nicoma Park, Oklahoma and Lifetime Member of the VFW Auxiliary of Wilburton.

Mary is survived by:
Son/Daughter-In-Law:  Bill & Charlene Draper, of Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Daughter/Son-In-Law:  Charlotte & Terry Wafford, of Wilburton, Oklahoma.
Granddaughter: Summer Brannon and husband Clint, of Wilburton, Oklahoma.
Grandsons:  Billy Draper, of Wilburton, Oklahoma; Brian Cannon and wife Gretchen, of Choctaw, Oklahoma; Clint Cannon and wife Jennifer, of Wilburton, Oklahoma; Jason Draper and wife Cindi, of Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Brothers-In-Law:  Gerald Plunk, of Choctaw, Oklahoma; Bob Draper, of Morenci, Arizona.
Sister-In-Law:  Nadine Basden, of Wilburton, Oklahoma.
She is also survived by 12 Great Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandson.
Numerous nephews and nieces.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Bill True Draper, parents Jess and Vanita Coyer, brother Roger Coyer and wife Violet, sister Loveta Rapp and husband Ernest, sister Barbara Lewis and husband Curtis, sister JoAnn Plunk, and infant brother. 

In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Grace Country Cowboy Church, Wilburton, Oklahoma.

Janice Ruth Johnston, age 84, of Wilburton, Oklahoma,, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the Latimer Nursing Home, of Wilburton, Oklahoma. 

Janice was born in Clayton, Oklahoma on December 26, 1931, a daughter of the late Neoma (Wickersham) and James  Bryan.

She worked as a school teacher.  Janice attended the  Panola Baptist Church, of  Panola, Oklahoma . 

Janice is  survived by:
Son:  Mitchell Johnston, of Wilburton, Oklahoma.
Daughter/Son-In-Law:  Brenda & Richard Gatchell, of Ft. Davis, Texas.
Brother/Sister-In-Law:  James & Wanda Bryan, of Sperry, Oklahoma. 
Sisters-In-Law:  Ruth Bryan of Clayton, Oklahoma; Helen Bryan, of Clayton, Oklahoma.  
Several nieces & nephews.

Laverne V. (Tommie) Holbird, age 87, of Woodhaven, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at the Applewood Nursing Home, of Woodhaven. 

Tommie was born in Wilburton, Oklahoma on November 10, 1928, a daughter of the late Cordelia (Smith) and Murl  McCoy.

Tommie was a  homemaker.  She was a member of First Baptist Church, of  Krebs, Oklahoma . 
 
She was the widow of Lester H. Holbird. On December 24, 1947, they were married at Ft. Smith, Arkansas.  Lester Holbird passed away November 19, 1983. 

Tommie  is  survived by:

Helen was born in Wilburton, Oklahoma on September 28, 1937, a daughter of the late Fern (Goodwin) and Casey  Jones.

Helen was a  homemaker.  She was a member of Highbridge Baptist Church, of  Wilburton, Oklahoma. 

Helen was the wife of Sid  Smith. On August 2, 1982, they were married at Poteau, Oklahoma. 

Helen is  survived by:
Husband: Sid Smith, of the home. 
Daughter/Son-In-Law:  Cindee & Terry Blankenship, of Wilburton, Oklahoma. 
Son/Daughter-In-Law: John & Kelley Collums, Jr., of San Antonio, Texas.

Darla was born in McAlester, Oklahoma on March 9, 1988, a daughter of Debra (Crabtree) Lawson and Marlin Zaste.

Darla was a  homemaker.

In Memory of Wanda June Maxey

Wanda June Maxey, age 88, of Wilburton, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at the McAlester Regional Hospital, of McAlester, Oklahoma. 

Wanda was born in Cravens, Oklahoma on May 11, 1928, a daughter of the late Dora (Smith) and Nathan  Colwell.

She was the widow of Billy Dean  Maxey, the love of her life. On June 15, 1946, they were married at Wilburton, Oklahoma.  Wanda was a wonderful homemaker.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, of Wilburton, Oklahoma.   She was also a member of the Eastern Star of Red Oak, Oklahoma and the VFW Women's Auxiliary. 

Wanda is  survived by:
Daughters/Son-In-Law:  Charlotte & Woody Abernathy, of Wilburton, Oklahoma; Melody Maxey, of Wilburton, Oklahoma. 
Nephew: Bob & Marylee Colwell, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Grandchildren, Stacey Abernathy, of Ft. Myers, Florida; John & Kim Patterson, of Cumming, Georgia, Shelley & Eric Brinkley of, Louiseville, Texas; grandson, Todd & Kelly Abernathy, of Dallas, Texas; grandson, Mikie & Anjie Mussett, of Valliant, Oklahoma; grandson, Jeremy Shane Mussett, of Valliant, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Allison & Mike Roets, of Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Gerl W. Kuykendall, age 75, of Red Oak, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, September 26, 2016 at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center, Muskogee, Oklahoma. 

Gerl was born in Red Oak, Oklahoma on March 3, 1941, a son of the late Bess (Adams) and Lee  Kuykendall.

He worked as a Transport Director at Red Oak Public School, of  Red Oak, Oklahoma.

Gerl was a member of North Rock Creek Baptist Church, of  Red Oak, Oklahoma.  He served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War. 

Gerl was the husband of Margaret  (Muse) Kuykendall. On July 14, 2014, they were married at Wilburton, Oklahoma. 

Gerl is survived by:
Wife: Margaret Kuykendall, of the home.
Brothers/Sister-In-Law: Bob Kuykendall, of Red Oak, Oklahoma; Bill & Ruth Kuykendall, of Colorado Springs, Colorado. 
 
Gerl was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, and 2 sisters.

Jimmy Gene Kittrell, age 80, of Wilburton, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the McAlester Regional Hospital, of McAlester, Oklahoma. 

Jimmy was born in Wilburton, Oklahoma on March 25, 1936, a son of the late Ruby (Dehart) and James  Kittrell.

Jimmy worked as a truck driver and he was of the Baptist faith.

Jimmy is  survived by: 
Daughter:  Carla Nash, of Lucas, Texas. 
Son/Daughter-In-Law:  Beryne &  Valery Kittrell, of Wyoming.
He is also survived by 9 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren .

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; 2 daughters, Cynthia Tuttle, Julie Keen; brother, Carroll Kittrell; grandson, Justin Kittrell; 2 great granddaughters, Kirsten Kittrell, Mariah Williams.
