In Memory of Leroy Scott

Henry Leroy Scott, a devoted husband, dad, and papa, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024, in Wilburton, Oklahoma, at the age of 88.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Waldrop Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Center Point Baptist Church with Rev. Bud Vinson officiating. Burial will follow at Center Point Cemetery.

Born in Wilburton, Oklahoma in the community of Center Point, to Everett Henry and Addie Mae (Smith) Scott on August 26, 1936. Leroy was the oldest of 3 children. He grew up in Wilburton and graduated from Wilburton High School in 1955. After graduation, Leroy went to EOSC for 1 semester. He married Kathryn Edington on January 12, 1957, in Wilburton, and they had 3 children. They moved to California for about 2 years, where Leroy went to work in the harvest. They then moved back to Wilburton, where Leroy worked for Eastern Tank. He later worked for 20 years at Wooldridge Oil, where he retired.

Leroy is survived by his wife, Kathryn; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Helen Scott of Wilburton; daughter and son-in-law, Marlene and Steve Ponnequin of Canadian Shores, Oklahoma; and son and daughter-in-law, Curtis and Jana Scott of Wilburton; grandchildren, Jeniffer and Craig Hammond of Enterprise, Oklahoma, Amber Jones of Stigler, Oklahoma, Marissa Bevilacqua, Rashell Scott, Cody and Kali Scott, and Ethan Scott, all of Wilburton; great grandchildren, Blake Watkins, Kayden, Harley and Raven Hammond, Lorenzo Bevilacqua, Emma Lomon, and Amara McCabe; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Nancy Scott; sister, Gwen Cook; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
