Sharon “Kay” Green

In Loving Memory of Sharon Kay Green

Sharon “Kay” Green was born on March 24, 1943. She passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Kay married Preston Green in Bengal, Oklahoma, at the home of Shelby Stevens. Together they built a life centered around family, hard work, and the home they lovingly made their own.

Kay found her greatest joy with her hands in the soil, tending to the flowers and plants she loved so dearly. She rarely bought flowers; instead, if she admired something blooming in a neighbor’s garden, she would kindly ask for a starter to nurture as her own. With a truly gifted green hand, she could coax beaty from the smallest cutting. Preston, using his tractor and shovel would dig up dogwoods discovered in the woods, bringing them home for Kay to plant around the yard and house. Through her care and devotion, she turned simple starters and woodland finds into a landscape full of life and love.

Her family was everything to her. She is survived by her children, Regina Pope of Leflore, and Tina Judkins and husband Philip of Bengal. She was a proud grandmother to Josh Pope, Brandi Smith, Kayla Rees, Chance Judkins, Parker Judkins, and Kenzie Pope. She was also blessed with 15 great-grandchildren who brought her so much happiness.

Kay is also survived by her sister, Janie Bown and husband Eddie of Salonia, and her brother, Larry Heaton and wife Kathy of Bengal.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Lee “Sandy” Heaton and Melba Heaton, and her siblings, LC Heaton and Janet Hunt.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Waldrop Funeral Home.
