William Claude (Bill) Hall

In Memory of  William Claude (Bill) Hall

The Lord called William Claude (Bill) Hall home on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at the age of 80.  

Bill  was born February 3, 1937, to C. L. and Ruth (Miller) hall in Hartshorne, Oklahoma.

Bill's family moved to California in 1948.  He graduated from Antioch (CA) High School in 1956 where he was an outstanding football player and track star.  The family returned to Wilburton in 1958 where he lived until his death.  Bill married Betty Ratcliff on October 17, 1959, and they recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary.

Bill served his country in the U S Army for eight years from 1955 to 1963 as a supply sergeant.  Bill was an active member of Center Point Baptist Church of Wilburton and served as song leader for over 42 years.  He also taught Sunday School and was a Deacon.

Bill worked as Parts Manager for the Miller-Hall Ford Company before becoming a State Farm Insurance Agent in 1965.  After 50 years as a State Farm agent, he retired in December of 2015.  He was enjoying his retirement.  He was an avid fisherman and had learned to play the guitar.  Bill also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.  

Bill is  survived by:
His loving wife of 58 years, Betty, of the home.
Son/Wife: David & Deena Hall, of Colleyville, Texas.
Daughter/Husband:   Wendy & David Bevil, of Rowlett, Texas.
Sister:   Jeannetta Miller, of Wilburton, Oklahoma.
He is also survived by 4 Grandchildren:  Kelsey and Connor Hall, both of Colleyville, Texas.
Hannah and Madeline Bevil, both of Rowlett, Texas.  And numerous nephews and nieces.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother and father and a brother, C. L. Hall, Jr.

Bill will be greatly missed by his family and friends who deeply love him.

Service at Center Point Baptist Church, Wilburton, Oklahoma, at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 1, 2017  with Rev. Bud Vinson and Rev. Doug Miller officiating.  Interment to follow at Centerpoint Cemetery, of Wilburton, Oklahoma.

James N. (Jake) Ward

In Memory Of James N. (Jake) Ward

James N. (Jake) Ward, age 82, of Grand Prairie, Texas, passed away peacefully from this earth, Friday, October 20, 2017 at Ennis Care Center, of Ennis, Texas.

Jake was born in Wilburton, Oklahoma on October 29, 1934, a son of the late Dora (Boatright) and GuyWard.

Jake served in the U.S. Army. He went to college andworked and retired as a machinist at Johnson & Johnson in Arlington, Texas.  Jake could accomplish anything he set his mind to do.  He was a man of many talents.  As a child, he would walk the mountains of the Kiamichi Range.  He loved outdoors, gardening, traveling, and the Cowboys!  Jake's greatest passion was the marriage to his wife, Rosemary, love of his life. He had a special place in his big heart for his brother-in-law, Gary Sherman, true 'buddies.'

He was a member of Mosaic Fellowship Church, ofGrand Prairie, Texas .

He was the husband of Rosemary(Etheredge) Ward. On May 1, 1972, they were married at Ft. Worth, Texas.

Jake issurvived by:
Loving Wife of 45 years: Rosemary Ward, of the home.
Daughters/Son-In-Law:  Terri & Duffey Todd, of Granbury, Texas; Tina Duque, of Lewisville, Texas.
Sons/Daughter-In-Law:   Chris & Connie York, of Arlington, Texas; Doug Ward, of Granbury, Texas.
Sister/Brother-In-Law:   Shirley & Ron Akers, of Van Buren, Arkansas.
Brother/Sister-In-Law:  John D. & Helen Reynolds, of Wilburton, Oklahoma.
Brother-In-Law/Sister-In-Law:   Gary & Karen Sherman, of Arlington, Texas.
He is also survived by beloved 5 Grandchildren: Megan, Brent, Amanda, Eric, and Kathlynn.
His 4 legged baby, Rosston.  And many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.

J.C. Vester, age 91, of Wilburton, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at his residence.

J.C. was born in Booneville, Arkansas on October 21, 1925, a son of the late Fannie Cathryn (Suttle) and James Vester.

J.C. worked as a teacher at Eastern Oklahoma State College, of Wilburton, Oklahoma.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, of Wilburton, Oklahoma.

J.C. served in the U.S. Army, 22nd Division.

He was the widower of Shirley(McCammon) Vester. On March 9, 1955, they were married at Stillwater, Oklahoma.

J.C. is survived by:

Norma was a homemaker.

She was the widow of JimmieCrank. In 1948, they were married at Reno, Nevada.

He worked as a carpenter.

Pat was born in Poteau, Oklahoma on April 12, 1949, a daughter of the late Lorene (Herrington) and Floyd  Hudlow.

Pat worked as a Medical Aid at the Latimer County Nursing Home, of  Wilburton, Oklahoma.

She was the wife of Frank  Bloxham. On June 17, 1967, they were married at LeFlore, Oklahoma. 

Pat is survived by:

Cotton was born in Wilburton, Oklahoma on August 13, 1952, a son of the late Grace (Nash) and Roy Lee Cantrell.

He worked in the oil field.  He served in the U.S. Army. 

Cotton was the husband of Deborah Cantrell. On November 12, 1979, they were married at Wilburton, Oklahoma.

She was a  homemaker.  She was a member of Village United Methodist Church, of  Oklahoma City, since 1965 (52 years). 

She was the wife of Stanley Funderburg. On May 31, 1956, they were married in Okemah, Oklahoma.

Anita Nadine Walker, age 84, of Red Oak, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017 at the Mitchell Manor Convalescent Home, in McAlester, Oklahoma. 

Nadine was born in Throckmorton, Texas on September 20, 1932, the daughter of the late Ethel Faye (Messenger) and Troy J. Lohden.

She was a homemaker, historian, crafter, cook and gardener.  
Nadine was a member of Wilburton Church of Christ, Wilburton, Oklahoma. 

She married J. D. Walker on January 5, 1948 at Lane, Oklahoma. They were married for 62 years.

Anita is survived by:
Sons/Daughters-In-Law:  Jimmy & Lorene Walker, of Red Oak, Oklahoma; Leland & Sally Walker, of Red Oak, Oklahoma.
Daughters/Sons-In-Law:  Juanita & George Sherrell, of McAlester, Oklahoma; LaDonna & James Barber, of Haworth, Oklahoma.

Services will be held at the Wilburton Church of Christ at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2017 with Mr. James Bailey officiating.  Interment will follow at the Wilburton Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

In Memory Of Juanita  Johnson

Juanita Johnson, age 95, formerly of Wilburton, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017 at the Integris Baptist Hospital, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. 

Juanita was born in Bethel, Oklahoma on May 11, 1922, a daughter of the late Ethel (Daniel) and John Emmit Green.

Juanita grew up at Smithville where she graduated.  Went to Murray State College and Southeastern State University where she received her Masters of Education.  She earned her Master of Library Science from The University of Oklahoma.  Juanita was a lifelong teacher and educator.  She ended her working career at Eastern Oklahoma State College as the Librarian after many years of service.  She loved reading and also loved traveling.  Her travels took her all over the world.  Faith, family, and education were the most important things to her.

Juanita was a member of Quail Springs Baptist Church, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. 

Juanita is survived by:
Son/Daughter-In-Law:  John & Kay Johnson, of Yukon, Oklahoma. 
Daughters/Sons-In-Law:   Debbie & Dwayne Williams, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; LaDonna &  Darryl Davis, of Fort Worth, Texas.
